What is the farthest distance that you have traveled without using a motor vehicle? Where did you go and how did you get there? |

My commute to Smud is 38 miles round trip from Roseville to Work. Although this might not be "Motor free", I did save lots of gas in july. It was really hot, and lots of traffic, so I rode my "Go-Ped" all the way to work and back for a few weeks. I averaged 32mph, and averaged 100 miles per gallon. And I was cooled off when moving! it beats sitting in traffic with no A/C!! It did take 1 hour to get to work, and a hour to get home. It was fun! And I saved lots of Gas! |

I rode my bike from San Francisco to Los Angeles for a fundraiser! I rode a total of 585 miles over 7 days! Not only was it an excellent cause (raising money for HIV and AIDS related services), but it was truly a start to a different (and more automobile-free) way of life! I now ride my bike or walk most places (since I live in East Sacramento, there really is no need to drive much), and I take public transit to work! |

The farthest distance by foot was 13.1 miles for a half marathon in Huntington Beach. Farthest distance by bike is a 16 mile round trip work commute. |
